Fun Ford Weekend

Yesterday, Matt and I went to Fun Ford Weekend at the Atlanta Motor Speedway in Commerce, GA. There was no one there! The car show ended up to be pretty small and there were not a lot of old cars....mostly new mustangs. I think with the combo of moving the date from April to June (nasty heat) and it being father's day weekend caused the decline in numbers this year. We watched a few mustangs race, bought a shirt, signed up with a Mustang magazine which came with free magazines and a shirt, bought something to drink, and looked at the cars in the car show. We mostly went because Matt wanted a hood for his car and he thought that the vendors at the show may be selling them for cheaper...and he was right! We got the hood he wanted for $320 when the cost on the Internet with shipping was $500+. BIG difference! We spent a good bit of time trying to figure out how to tie this thing down in the bed of his truck so that it wouldn't fly out on the way home. After about 30 minutes, we got it good and roped in (literally) and headed home. I must say that even though there were not many people present for the event, we had a lot of fun and it was worth the trip. I think we are going to try to go again next year. I would drive the red Saleen above in a heartbeat!
